Water jet processing (rubber, sponge, plastic)

Water jet processing that enables fine processing of materials such as rubber, sponge, and cork. It can perform cutting and cutting-out processing with a width of 0.1 mm.

This is an introduction to water jet processing as a response to fine cutting processing of rubber and sponge. Are you having trouble with processed products such as small round holes or narrow long holes? We perform processing with a nozzle that has an injection port of 0.1 mm, so depending on the material and thickness, it is possible to create shapes that cannot be reproduced with press processing or plotter processing. Depending on the material and thickness, plastic cutting is also possible. Thanks to water jet processing, it is possible to create shapes where the cut-out part does not have a blade radius. (Please refer to the photo.) If there are shapes you thought were impossible to achieve, please consult with us.

Silicone 50° Rubber curtain Water jet

A small amount of silicon processing can be easily done with water jet cutting. Please leave rubber curtain processing to water jet cutting.

Si is particularly excellent in cold and heat resistance, with very little change in properties even in the range of -60° to 250°. It also excels in weather resistance and electrical insulation. This has been cut using a water jet cutter. It accurately reproduces the shape of the drawing. It complies with the Food Sanitation Act, so it is used in food machinery and medical devices.

Advantages of water jet cutting

We also accommodate cutting processing with supplied materials! We achieve cost reduction by shortening processing time.

"Water jet cutting" is a processing method that causes less thermal impact and distortion to the material during processing compared to circular saw cutting or band saw cutting. It uses a high-pressure pump to pressurize water, which is then ejected from a small-diameter nozzle, utilizing the energy of ultra-high-pressure water to cut various materials into desired shapes. Additionally, the cut surfaces have a smooth finish, and depending on the conditions, secondary processing may not be necessary, allowing for further cost reduction. [Advantages] - Capable of cutting various metals - No thermal impact on the material - Smooth cut surfaces - Suitable for large and thick plate processing *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Water jet cutting

Cutting and processing materials with ultra-high pressure water - no stress, heat impact, burrs, or deformation on the materials!

Water is injected from a small-diameter nozzle at ultra-high pressure (245–343 MPa) to perform cutting using the kinetic energy of a high-speed water jet (jet stream). 【Features】 ○ The injection speed of the ultra-high pressure water, pressurized by an ultra-high pressure pump, reaches three times the speed of sound (approximately 700–800 m/s), allowing for cutting various materials into free shapes regardless of hardness or size. ○ There are two methods: "Aqua Jet Cutting," which uses only ultra-high pressure water for cutting, and "Abrasive Jet Cutting," which mixes abrasive materials with ultra-high pressure water for cutting. ○ By incorporating abrasive materials, cutting capability is enhanced, enabling processing of hard materials. ○ This cutting method generates no heat and does not affect the mechanical properties or quality of the material. ○ Unlike lasers, there is no stress, thermal impact, burrs, or deformation on the material, allowing for cutting that feels as if it were done with scissors. ○ It is capable of cutting through thick non-ferrous metals, composites, stone, plastics, cushioning materials, and any other materials.

Water jet cutting

Composite materials can also be cut! There is no change in material quality (thermal effects) at the cut surface, making secondary processing easy.

Our company offers water jet processing. Cutting with a water jet is a non-contact process where tools such as drills and cutters do not touch the workpiece, resulting in no heat generation. This eliminates thermal effects that can be problematic for aerospace components, ensuring that there is no alteration or discoloration of the workpiece. Most materials that are not thin glass, which can break under water pressure, and are not affected by moisture can be cut. 【Features】 ■ Can cut or carve any shape from any point ■ Does not apply stress ■ No thermal effects, so there is no deformation ■ Produces minimal burrs, allowing for cutting that feels like using scissors ■ No material change (thermal effects) on the cut surface, making secondary processing easy *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Presenting the materials! What is water jet cutting?

A processing method that can cut without being limited by material. It can cut thick materials like aluminum, brass, and copper, which are not well-suited for laser cutting, beautifully!

At B.K.T., we have our main laser cutting machines and water jet cutting machines, and we cut various materials. The water jet cuts by mixing a fine abrasive called garnet with water. It can cut a wide range of materials including stone, rubber, carbon fiber, acrylic, and Delrin. Since heat is not applied to the jet beam, the material can be cut without distortion, maintaining a precision of approximately ±0.3mm. 【Water Jet】 Features: Can cut without regard to material type. Minimal deformation due to heat. Processing Precision: Approximately ±0.3mm for both outer and inner diameters. Processing Range: SUS series 0.5mm to 100.0mm AL series 0.5mm to 200.0mm Copper/Brass 0.5mm to 100.0mm If you have any questions or requests such as "Can this be cut with a water jet?" or "I want to cut this material, but I'm not sure if it's possible...", please feel free to consult with us first! *For inquiries about processing, please do not hesitate to contact us.
